The sudden death of Joanne Wilfred, a young netballer who represented St. Lucia in various local and regional tournaments, has shocked many persons, including her classmates at the Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary.
As such the school, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education, has organised to get several counselors to conduct various sessions with students beginning today, Monday (Sep.12).
St. Lucia News Online (SNO) understands that both staff members and students are extremely shocked by the Wilfred’s sudden passing and have been screaming and crying since they received the news.
The young netballer’s cause of death is so far unknown, however, reports are that she has been complaining of chest pains for some time now.
Wilfred, who is just 15, represented St. Lucia’s U-16 Netball team as a goal attack, center or wing attack.
