This year’s competition will be held on July 3.
PRESS RELEASE - The Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries would like to announce the hosting of the 2014 National Tourism Public Speaking Competition on Thursday, July 3 at the Royal Conference Room, Royal Saint Lucian by Rex Resorts from 10 a.m.
The competition seeks to provide students ages 14-17 an opportunity to address areas of critical importance to the tourism industry and provide solutions where possible.
Participants will be judged on the following:
- Content
- Delivery
- Language
- Effective use of time
The winner of this year’s competition will serve in the capacity of “Junior Minister for Tourism 2014-2015” and will represent Saint Lucia at the 2014 Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Youth Congress, scheduled for September 17-19, 2014 in St. Thomas USVI. The junior minister will also be the youth ambassador for Saint Lucia’s tourism industry and is expected to participate in the various programmes/activities hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and other industry partners.
