PRESS RELEASE – The Choiseul Co-operative Credit Union Limited on Friday 9th September, 2016 held its 24th Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony at the District Education Office at La Fargue, Choiseul.

This ceremony was held to honor students who performed outstandingly at various examinations held during the 2015/2016 academic year and whose parents are members in good standing with the institution.

A total of thirteen (13) new students were recognized and were awarded scholarship grants to continue their studies at higher levels. Of the 13 students awarded, two were top performers at the 2016 Common Entrance Examination and were presented with the Ignatius Lafeuillee Scholarship Award. This scholarship is awarded as a full five-year scholarship for the students to attend the secondary school of their choice.

Nine more students from the Choiseul and Soufriere regions who were also successful at this year’s common entrance exams were awarded the Hubert King Bursary Grant. The Hubert King Bursary Grant serves as a means of providing some relief to members who are in need of financial assistance in order to send their children to school.

In addition to awarding students who were successful at this year’s common entrance exams the Choiseul Credit Union also awarded two students who performed remarkably at the CXC examinations.

One student was awarded the Father Chauvet Academic Tertiary Scholarship in order to pursue A’Level courses at the tertiary level.

The second student was awarded the Newton Albert Technical Tertiary Scholarship in order to pursue a technical or vocational programme at the tertiary level.

The Choiseul Co-operative Credit Union Limited would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the thirteen (13) students who were awarded scholarship grants this year. We encourage these students to take full advantage of this opportunity. We urge them to continue to work hard and to strive for excellence in all that they do.

We also encourage their parents, our members, to continue to support their children in their education and to nurture them into becoming more productive members of society.
