PRESS RELEASE – The Department of Education wishes to inform staff, parents, guardians and students attending the George Charles and Jon Odlum Secondary Schools that school will reopen on Monday 5th September, 2016.
Students and staff are to report to their respective schools; that is, George Charles students at George Charles Secondary and Jon Odlum students at Jon Odlum Secondary, where general assemblies will be held at 9:00 a.m, to update students on the way forward and on other matters.
Students and staff from both schools will report to the Jon Odlum Secondary School on Tuesday 6th September, 2016, where a joint orientation session will be held for all students. Classes will, however, officially begin on Wednesday 7th September, 2016.
The Department of Education from Tuesday 6th September, 2016, will make available buses for students and staff of the George Charles Secondary School from 7:15 – 8:00 a.m, at the Jacmel bus stop, opposite Cosmopolitan Bar on Victoria Street, Castries. Buses will also travel along the Cicercon and Goodland main road for pick-ups.
The Department of Education advises students and teachers that the buses will carry the Ministry’s tag, as well as the crest of the George Charles Secondary School.
Meantime, students of the George Charles Secondary, who were originally on the Ministry’s Transport Subsidy Programme, will continue on that programme for the new academic year.
