PRESS RELEASE – St John Association of St.Lucia, formerly known as St. John Ambulance has awarded thirteen (13) students of the Monchy Primary School who are known as St. John Badgers ( ages 7- 12) their first aid certificates and badges upon completion of their First Aid training.
The group was formed by Mrs Vernelle Alphonse-Cerry, a teacher at the school who is also a First Aid Instructor and Staff Officer of St. John and teamed up with Mrs Maria Hippolyte who is also a teacher at the same school. Together, they have met with the Badgers everyWednesday during the school’s co curricular period and have been training them in first aid as well as drills.
From the inception, the students have been well receptive and enthusiastic about becoming first Aiders.
Their training was completed on Saturday, March 19, 2016 and at their assembly today, Mr. Glenn Wilson, who is the Commissioner of St. John, proudly presented them with their certificates as well as Badges.

This was highlighted as a very proud moment for the school by Principal, Mrs Jane Jacob-Jean.
