PRESS RELEASE - The Saint Lucia Seventh-day Adventist Academy (SDAA) is this school year celebrating fifty (50) years of dedicated service to the people of Saint Lucia.
As part of this celebration, the SDAA is publishing an E-Magazine to document its history.
Founding stalwart Mr. Francis Mason and other individuals who gave selflessly towards the establishment of the learning institution along with its alumni will also be featured. The 50-year milestone will also be marked by the construction of a Mathematics Computer Laboratory in honor of Mr. Francis Mason.
The 200-page E-Magazine will also feature a congratulatory message from Education Minister Honourable Dr. Robert Lewis, in addition to other articles featuring teachers and former students who have made indelible imprints on the local, regional and international landscapes.
The decision to make the magazine available in an electronic format is primarily in keeping with the emerging trend towards a paperless society, thereby conserving the environment and avoiding the need for physical storage space. The magazine will be sold online and promises to be very insightful, covering information spanning 50 years.
“We encourage all alumni and current students to seize the opportunity to get their hand on this publication. It will be extremely insightful, replete with information to help past students reminisce on their journey through the Academy. The magazine will also capture pictorial memories of the Academy, and will also feature excerpts by former students on their experience at the institution,“ noted Elsie Samuel , Education Director at the Saint Lucia Mission of SDA’s.
The e-magazine will be launched officially at an Alumni Dinner planned for May 24th, 2015, at the Golden Palm Events Centre at Rodney Bay.
The e-magazine planning committee is inviting all SDA alumni to be part of this great initiative. They can be reached at 717-7231 or via email: alexisjennifer@yahoo.com.
