Environmental education campaign for schools continues

PRESS RELEASE - The visits to schools organized by the PCI Media Impact with the Ministry of Sustainable Development Energy Science and Technology, Fisheries Division, Department of Forestry, St. Lucia National Trust and Solid Waste Management to provide information to students of schools Island wide on healthy lifestyle and environmental issues continued on Tuesday 13th January.

Presentations were made to students of the Morne Du Don Combined School, Vide Bouteille Primary School and the Seventh Day Adventist Primary School.

Representatives of the different Ministries and Organizations continued to educate the students on the need to ensure that their actions do not damage the natural environment and its inhabitants.

The students were provided with information on how to address environmental problems such as Climate Change, Invasive species, pollution and the Genetically Modified Organisms re foods.

The students were again entertained with the portrayal of Mascots on the different presentations and students did receive prizes for giving correct answers to questions following the different presentations.

The education process will continue with a District 2 annual walk schedule for Thursday January 15th and continue with visits to more schools island wide in the upcoming months to ensure all students are educated and informed to play and active role in protecting their environment.
