An American-based St. Lucian has produced a book of inspirational quotes titled “Making A Difference In Life”.
Stanley Justin, who was born and raised in Estangs, Soufriere and attended the Soufriere Comprehensive School, said his new book “will motivate you from where you once were to a new you”.
In providing a synopsis of the book, Justin said often times people tend to believe that bettering themselves is creating a new person, but advised, “You must have faith, trust and courage in yourself in order to move further… as long you have faith in yourself you good to go.”
He said one of the most common obstacles teens face is listening to naysayers, which sometimes lead them in the wrong path. The book also touches on that topic.
“I will encourage you, don’t listen to the naysayers, people telling you can’t do this or that. You must always listen to yourself, trust yourself people…,” he said.
Austin recalled while working on the book a few persons told him that he will never be successful.
“If I had listened I won’t, but I continued my work because I knew I could have done it. I had faith and most importantly encouraged myself,” he
added.
The first-time author said, “Never be afraid to make decisions because if you don’t you will be paralysed and you will never made a difference, you must always be willing to try.”
Justin said a person’s attitude sometimes serves as a stumbling block from moving forward in life, but said they must tailor their attitude to think positively.
“It is good to fall in life, so you can work either on your weak areas… your attitude will be called into effect when you have to stand up,” he explained.
