SRDF congratulates recipients of UWI certificates

(PRESS RELEASE) – On Friday 31 January, 2019, several students were the proud recipients of Certificates from the University of the West Indies (UWI) St Lucia Campus.

The presentation of certificates was held at Morne Coubaril Estate in Soufriere. The occasion saw the attendance of 45 graduates along with representatives from the university and various organizations, including the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation.

The courses included Supervisory Management which ran from October to December and Introduction to Events Management which ran from November to December 2020.

Mrs. Leslie Mitchel, Acting Head of the UWI open campus, St. Lucia site expressed her delight at the fact that the academic institution had been able to extend its reach to every part of the island to offer programmes to as many individuals as possible. She further stated that she was very thankful to one of the facilitators, Mr. Dominic Alexander, for his unwavering support in assisting the university to achieve the aforementioned.

One of the graduates of Supervisory Management Course, Ms. Shara Biscette claimed that “the course, for me, was a life changing experience.” She went on to state that the course instilled in her various methods she could utilize to be more efficient at time management and attributed much of that to the guidance of her facilitator, Mr. Dominic Alexander.

For his part the General Manager of the S.R.D. F, Mr. Franklin Solomon, said that he was extremely pleased to see that several employees of the organization has assumed responsibility for the personal development by enrolling in the course. He concluded by highlighting the organizations continued commitment in helping its employees in that regard.

The SRDF wishes to congratulate all the recipients on their well-deserved success.
