PRESS RELEASE – The work of the YPG done in Saint Lucia includes visiting schools, communities and helping the needy.
For five years the YPG has been working to make the difference in the country. All this has been accomplished through their own efforts and also with the help of sponsors.
On the 15th of April, members of the YPG (Youth Power Group) visited the “Boys Training Center”. About 35 youths along with the coordinator of the YPG had a fun day with the boys. They played football and Dominoes with them and shared food and snacks.
Around 10am the youths from the YPG reached the place and open the visitation with a prayer, asking God to change the mind and heart of those who were present. They divided groups to play football and Dominoes, while the girls from the YPG were fixing the tables with the food and snacks prepared specially for the boys.
“Many groups and adults come to visit the boys, but what makes the difference with the YPG is that they are all young and it makes the dialogue easier between them”, said the coordinator of the Boys Training Center.
At the end of the visitation, the coordinator of the YPG in Saint Lucia Leandro Santos share a message for the boys saying: “Many people don’t believe you can do better when you leave from here, but if you believe in yourself and change your mindset, you can come out of here better off. It all depends on you!”
Nickey Jn Baptiste was present in the event. He was formerly a ward at the Boys Training Center for 6 months and today he is out and became a member of the YPG helping others to make the right choices in life.
N.B: The YPG is a non-profitable organization with the aim of changing young people`s life. The youths from the YPG have a lot to say when it comes to pain. Truth and reality unfolds in our meetings, made by young people to young people. Every week, different topics that will open your eyes to the truth and help you direct your life on the right path.
